Latest Cat 2016 (Common Admission Test 2016) Examination Syllabus
If you are preparing for the CAT exams then you need to be updated regarding the syllabus. Though, the paper is unpredictable but still it will consist of three important sections. You will find 100 objectives multiple choice questions. From this year you will be given 180 mins to solve the full paper. There will be one negative mark for each wrong attempts, so, just be careful before you mark; because often this thing only reduces your chances to get entry in the IIM’S.

Though the syllabus in not predefined but from the past years it is being found that it basically follows three sections. Quantitative aptitude, verbal, logical reasoning and data interpretation.
Quantitative aptitude for CAT 2016
This section of the question paper is mainly consisting of your basic maths skills; you can call it the quicker maths. You will find Number Systems; LCM and HCF; Profit; Permutation and Combination, Loss and Discount; Percentages; Speed, Time and Distance; Binomial Theorem ,Time and Work; Ratio and Proportion; Simple and Compound Interest ;Averages; Quadratic Equations; Linear Equations; Complex Numbers;; Surds and Indices; Inequalities; Probability;; Set Theory; Functions; Geometry; Mixtures and Alligations; Trigonometry; Coordinate Geometry; Logarithm; Sequences and Series and Mensuration.
Verbal ability for CAT 2016
This section of question paper is mainly consisting of your knowledge in English. Many of the people think that they can easily go for this section as they are the old birds of English but this is not so. This part of the question paper mainly owns Vocabulary Based (Synonyms Antonyms), phrases and idioms, verbal reasoning, sentence correction, reading comprehensions and some additional parts of grammar.
Logical reasoning & data interpretation
In this sections you will have to interpret data and also to analyse which would be based on text, graphs (line, area), tables charts, (column, bar, pie), etc.
The another part of the same section is the logical reasoning which is consist of Clocks, calendars, binary logic, blood relations, , assumption, premise, seating arrangement conclusion, linear and matrix arrangement, logical sequence, etc.
