What is CAT 2016?

IIM’s conducts this test every year to build up the students for business administration programs. In august 2011, it was announced that Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) would also use the CAT scores, instead of the Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET), to select students for their management programmes starting with the 2012-14 batch. The test consists of 100 objective questions divided into three sections Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR). This Year CAT 2016 will conducted in Month of October.

Why to choose CAT?
If you are thinking to make handsome money and also to hold a reputed post in renowned company then CAT can open the doors your dream. It’s an exam that can take you beyond your horizon. The Eligibility for CAT 2016
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories].
If you are in the final year of your bachelor’s degree, you will have to provide the Aggregate Percentage up to the last marks statement received from the University.
There is also few eligibility criteria’s that you would get to know while filling up the form.
Registration for CAT 2016
The first step towards the CAT is the registration. The registration for the exam has begun. You can register for CAT 2016 from the official CAT 2016 website, www.iimcat.ac.in between August 8th 2016 and 5:00 p.m. till 22nd September 2016.
The registration is followed by three steps, registration, log in and the filling up of application form.
Preference cities for CAT 2016
As per the rules, you will be given the option to select your preference city for examination. You will be given four options to select your preference cities, in the case if you don’t get your first preference; you could go for the other three options. The preference cities will be allotted by CAT Centre on random basis. Candidates do not have the option to choose.
Test fees for CAT 2016
Registration fee is Rs 1700 for General and NC-OBC candidates (Rs 850 for SC/ST/PWD (DA) categories). The additional charges are applicable on the final amount.
Mode of payment for CAT Examination 2016
Candidates can pay the money by debit/credit cards or they can also move for the option of net banking.
Admit card for CAT Examination 2016
The candidates can download the admit card from the official website from 18 October till 4th December.
